I grew up in Ruidoso, New Mexico, a cute little "mountain" town. I wasn't crazy about it when I was growing up, but it was a good place to live and a good place to grow up in. But in all honesty, I am not a fan of New Mexico. I tell people I was born in California, which is true, but we moved when I was 6 weeks old. I don't really feel like New Mexico is my home.
Josh is from Texas. He hasn't lived there in years, but when people ask him where he is from he says, "Texas." And he always will. He got a license plate that says, "TXHOOKEM" for his car. For those of you who need a translation it is, Texas Hook'em. (For the Longhorns).
We were having this discussion one day and I told him that I am going to tell people I am from Alaska. Not because it sounds cool, and it DOES sound cool, but because that is the place where I have felt the most comfortable. There is just something about Alaska and the people there that stole my heart. I love that place and I would go back there in an instant.
One day last week I went to get the mail and there was a package from the NM Department of Motor Vehicles. I seriously thought he had ordered another personalized license plate. He had. However, it was not for him. It was for me!
This is what 15 years of marriage is all about! My person gets me and I am lucky!

The cutest!
