Today was my first day of RAD(s) also known as radiation. I have 33 sessions, Monday-Friday for the next 6 1/2 weeks. It' only takes about 5 minutes. It's like getting an X-ray, except, it will burn my skin over time, causes extreme fatigue, and although it's purpose is to make sure the cancer doesn't return, the radiation itself can cause cancer.
And the process to get ready for it?! WOW! An MRI, my skin being mapped and marked up, small tattoos to make sure the cancer curing/causing radiation goes to the right spots. It's all kind of crazy!
But I am alive and in the end that's really all that matters, right?
